Varsity B and some select JV wrestlers traveled to Valley Traditional High School to wrestle Bullitt, Central, Davies, Doss, Fairdale, Ft. Knox, Jeffersontown, Madison Central, Meade, North Oldham, PRP, St. X, and Western in a individual tournament, with the champions at each weight class getting a title belt.
While no Jeffersonville wrestlers placed 1st, overall has a team major improvements were seen and most, if not all, wrestlers beat their seeds.
Vaughn Lloyd placed 3rd at 145, placing the highest of any Jeffersonville wrestler. Vaughn had over 8 minutes of overall riding time and wrestled great. Coming in 4th place were Darian Collins, Isiah Fultcher, Carlos Monroy, and Humberto Pulido. Isiah had over 9 matches in a less than a week and was named one of the Wrestlers of the Week.
In 5th place was Nick Kauchak, also named Wrestler of the Week, and Dylan Post. Nick showed major improvements throughout the day and surpassed his seed. At 6th place was TJ Sumner and Shawn Williams, with Shawn collecting two pins on the day. In 7th place was Josh Craig and in 8th place were Trent Brown and James Stewart.
It should be noted that this was a varsity tournament with all teams expect St. X. sending their 1st string varsity. This coming weekend Varsity B and JV will be wrestling at Columbus East while Varsity will be at Franklin Community.
